In "Dreamer by Design," the third show of the season, Sierra based snowboarder Nick Russell shares his story of how an East Coast transplant manifested a childhood vision turned into reality.
As humans, we have an innate desire to explore the world around us. It is that thirst for firsthand adventure that has led Nick around the world in search of a dream. Over the past two decades, he has steadily found his path into the mountains and into a fresh line through life. From the highs and lows that accompany any passionate pursuit, join along as Nick shares his story of how an East Coast transplant manifested a childhood vision turned into reality.
By utilizing human power fueled by a splitboard and a healthy appetite for stepping outside of perceived comfort zones, Nick's adventures have spanned mountain ranges across six continents. He will speak to the freedom associated with dirtbagging, the importance of maintaining a positive attitude in the face of despair and conservative decision making in consequential terrain. Tune in as Nick re-lives a few memorable adventures from the highest peaks of Alaska, snowboarding alongside penguins in Antarctica and completely winging it in remote mountains across South America, the Middle East, Asia and beyond.

There will be limited capacity (500 total) seating so please arrive early.

American snowboarder Nick Russell is a high-speed slalom extraordinaire who's starred in numerous films and pioneered his own style of self-sufficient mountaineering, hiking and splitboarding.
Nick’s home mountains are in the Sierra Nevada range above Lake Tahoe, but he loves traversing new and unexplored terrain everywhere from South America to Europe and Asia.
He was born in Ridgefield, Connecticut, but grew up in Stratton, Vermont, where he fell in love with the mountains and learned how to ride halfpipes. These days he's based in Truckee, California, a perfect location for him to use his own two feet to hike around the Sierra Nevada mountains and then use his snowboard or splitboard to ride ever-changing new routes down them.
During his college days Nick took part in FIS events, but more recently he's focused on producing films. Check out his parts in All In A Dream (2019), Range Of Mystery (2018), Aurora Boardealis (2017) and Livin (2014).
